Washington DC. DC first published a sustainability plan in 2013. The plan aimed to reduce GHG emissions by 50% by 2032, and by 80% by 2050, compared with 2006’s baseline numbers. It has been reported that DC leads the U.S. in the area of green roofs, with 1,000,000+ s.f. of roof area in the city receiving some sort of green roof treatment. “Washington, D.C. It also received the nation’s first Platinum certification in LEED for Cities. It scores an “A” grade in the cdp.net climate ranking.
