ICLEI aka Local Governments for Sustainability. Usually pronounced ick-ley. ICLEI stands for International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives, but this term is rarely used. ICLEI/LGS is a global network of more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. The member cities in its Cities for Climate Protection Campaign commit to 1. Conduct an energy and emissions inventory and forecast. 2. Establish an emissions reduction target. 3. Develop a local action plan to achieve the goal. 4. Implement policies and measures. 5.
